2025 Calderdale
I was invited by Calderdale Borough Council to design and deliver an Arts Council England-funded Youth Music Takeover programme for their year of culture.
I worked with local grassroots music venues, artists and performers, recording studios, record labels and blogs to create a ‘hands-on’ learning programme that would give the young people the skills, knowledge, contacts and experience to take the first step towards entering creative careers.
The ‘DIT Bootcamp’ resulted in a number of the participants securing paid traineeships which they used to form their own Youth Music Collective and create their own ongoing programme of events and development opportunities.
