2020 – 2022 Cittadellarte Fondazione-Pistoletto, Biella, Italy
As Visiting Research Curator for the alternative education programme at Michaelangelo Pistoletto’s centre for art and social transformation I designed and delivered a series of artist residencies and intensive labs exploring aspects of embedded arts practice. Over the course of two years more than 100 residents from across the globe came together to share their situated, context-responsive, durational practice and action research through a programme of peer-learning, seminars, workshops, visits and activities.
The peer-to-peer learning programme combined in-presence and remote learning. Invited guest mentors included Katherine Gibson, Gregory Sholette, Jeanne van Heeswijk, Sandi Hilal, Mick Wilson and Paul O’Neill, Nadia Moya and Fernando Escobar, Crater Invertido, Wharf Chambers Co-operative Club, The Interdependence (Kathrin Bohm, Bianca Elzenbaumer, Kate Rich) and many other artists, academics and collectives. The research arc resulted in a handbook ‘Reflections on Embedded Arts Practice’ published by Corridor8 and Cittadellarte.
