2020 – 2025 Pendle
Dreamwork Pendle is a ‘verbatim video game’ in which the player explores the Future of Work in Pendle, East Lancashire. The content has been generated through conversations, workshops and research with employers, young people, educational institutions, skills providers and other organisations in the area.
The resulting interactive fiction game uses speculative storytelling and local context to reflect these conversations — blending real-life input with imagined futures. The final section of the game, written with students from Nelson and Colne College, adds a surreal narrative shift, reinforcing the collaborative, playful and open-ended spirit of the project.
