2008 – 2014 Hull, Oldham, Rochdale, Blackburn, Leeds and Bradford
The Festival of Pastimes is a project initiated in 2008 in Leeds with further iterations in Birmingham, Stoke-On-Trent, Oldham, Rochdale, Blackburn and Bradford. The project is centred around an event, either outdoors or in a community venue, that maps and showcases spare-time activity. Local groups and individuals are invited to have a stall and/or demonstrate what they do; an interactive Hobby Map is created that shows where things happen in the area; games are played that allow passers-by to talk about what they do outside of work; and information and publications are distributed. An oversized garden shed acts as the visual centrepiece for the event.
