What Makes Gipton? is an interactive sculpture commissioned by East Leeds Project as part of their research about local makers and creative activity. It is made from modular parts that can be assembled in a variety of ways. The panels display images and digital content developed with local people that can be unlocked using an Augmented Reality app on tablets and mobile devices. The sculpture was showcased at Gipton Gala and subsequent public engagement events to facilitate conversations that will feed into the design of a semi-permanent makers space in the area.
